Mex Polska has signed agreements for 3 new establishments in Krakow and plans more

5 March 2024

Mex Polska has concluded agreements for three new eateries at the Old Market Square in Krakow, which will operate under the Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa, Chicas&Gorillas and Pankejk brands, and their launch is planned within the next six months, the company reported. The company wants to launch a total of six new venues in H1 2024.

Currently, the holding company has 46 profitable locations operating under five brands, and this half-year this number may increase by at least six more, due to plans for further expansion covering cities viz: Katowice, Wrocław, Kraków, Nowy Sącz, Zamość and Mława, it was stated.

“Demand for our catering services is growing all the time, which translates into better and better sales results. Bars and shot-bars, such as Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa and Chiccas & Gorillas, remain a particularly profitable segment of the Group. We are focusing on the continued expansion of these brands, planning our continued presence in, among other places, such an attractive city as Krakow. It is in this area that we intend to open the fourth Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa and the first Chiccas & Gorillas in the city within a few months. The centre of Krakow is an area full of life both during the day and at night, and we intend to make the most of this potential with our popular concepts. We are also preparing a surprise for the residents of Krakow but also for tourists looking for a tasty and inexpensive way to spend time with family and friends. We are planning to open the first Pankejk, a restaurant serving pancakes and pancakes in both savoury and sweet versions, on the Old Town’s main square. After our experience with Długa Street in Gdańsk, we know how popular such an offer is in attractive tourist locations in Poland,” said President of Mex Polska Paweł Kowalewski.

“In the current half-year, we expect to open 5 or even 6 new establishments in the Group. We have already mentioned some of them in terms of the expansion of the bistro chain, e.g. in Katowice and Zamość. On the other hand, we are also planning to expand our presence in Wrocław, Nowy Sącz and Mława in the near future, which we will be able to say more about soon,” he added.

The development of the chain of catering establishments comes from the Group’s own funds, loans and funds from franchisees within the framework of franchise agreements (the chain of Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa establishments, among others, is developed in this model), it was also stated.

Grupa Mex Polska manages catering establishments and develops the following brands: The Mexican, Prosty Temat, Pankejk, Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa, Chicas & Gorillas. Since 2012, the company has been listed on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
