The daily Mlada fronta Dnes reports that while the jailed influence peddler Marek Dalik sits in jail having given up most of his property, his uncle Zdenek Panek is overseeing a company called Bramley that’s business worth hundreds of millions of crowns for an ‘unknown’ owner. MfD reports that Bramley has been moving forward on the construction of a trio of buildings with a total of 165 apartments in Rosice u Brna. This required a change of the town’s master plan and a promise from local authorities to build an access road to the site. In return, Bramley has pledged to allow the construction of a nursery school and a school. The town’s mayor told the newspaper “We don’t care whose money it is. The main thing is that it’s good for Rosice.” Dalik, often described as the right-hand man of former PM Mirek Topolanka, was imprisoned for demanding bribes for a military contract. The article claims that Dalik’s uncle is also well connected with elite Czech politicians.
