Miami green lights seaplane terminal building

5 February 2016

The Miami commissioners have voted to approve the construction of a new government cut aviation center by rezoning the southwest corner of Watson Island. The developer, Nautilus Enterprises, is planning a nine-story seaplane terminal building. The mixed use project would include a terminal and hangar on the ground floor, hanging garden exhibit on the fifth floor, with an observation deck on the ninth floor. Also included will be 50,000 square feet of office, retail and restaurant space, with a media room and steakhouse on the upper levels. The building is to be topped off with a 341 foot lighthouse tower.
