M/I Homes Inc. has named Michael Stephens director of land acquisitions for its new Sarasota-Manatee division, which will be based in Lakewood Ranch. In his new role Stephens will search for vacant land and other property in Sarasota and Manatee counties for building and development to help drive M/I Homes’ long-term growth strategy. Prior to joining M/I Homes, Stephens worked for KB Home for four years where he served as director of land acquisition overseeing land purchases, forward planning, project budgeting, site development and new community activities for the Tampa and Fort Myers divisions. “Michael has experience in both acquisitions and development, with strong connections in Sarasota and Manatee counties,” said M/I Homes Area President David Hunihan. “He will be instrumental in M/I Homes’ expansion plans in the region.”
