Michelin is gradually resuming production at its metal cord factory in Zalau. However, its tire factory in the same city as well as another one in Floresti will remain closed for the time being. The tire manufacturer stopped production at all three factories in Romania at the end of March because of the coronavirus. “From April 8, the production activity from Zalau Cord has progressively resumed. The necessary sanitary measures have been implemented, in accordance with the legislation in force and with the internal regulations, our priority being to protect the health and safety of our employees. The Floresti and Zalau tire factories are still closed, with the exception of certain critical activities, which have a specific program,” said Alina Marcu, public relations manager for Michelin Central and South Europe.
