Bank Millennium presented partners running its branches all over Poland with a mysterious commission attachment, according to which their income could drop by as much as 70%.
In recent days, representatives of a group of several dozen Millennium partners who run 160 bank branches throughout Poland on a franchise basis have went to the editorial office of “Wprost”. They say the directors put them up against the wall, handing them a controversial commission attachment to sign.
“They really think we’ll be intimidated,” franchisees say, and threaten to shut down branches after the changes are made.
The document proposes a new system of remunerating franchisees. The bank wants to cut their commissions for loans granted in their branches. The reduction is so drastic that, according to the calculations of entrepreneurs, we are talking about a decrease in revenues at the level of up to 70%. The bank wants franchisees to sign new remuneration rules by February 1 this year.
Millennium is today the eighth bank in Poland in terms of the number of clients. It supports 3.4 million current accounts.
