Miklós Réthelyi, the Minister of National Resources has left his post. His replacement is Zoltán Balog, who is currently Minister of State for Social Inclusion of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice. Last year, there was a great deal of uncertainty after Hungary’s EU presidency when Viktor Orbán began a cabinet shake-up. The first minister to leave was Tamás Fellegi (Minister of National Development), who left last December. Orbán said in mid-April that there were ministers who accepted their posts for just two years, suggesting that further cabinet shake-ups could be on the way. Until now only Balog’s appointment is certain.
