Prices on Polish credit default swaps (CDS) fell below those for French CDS for the first time ever, said Finance Minister Jacek Rostkowski. “This of course may change in the coming days but I consider it a very important signal,” he said, adding that the lower prices will cause the yields on government bonds to go up, as will the price of new issues. “All of this adds up to a coherent picture which shows that the credibility of the Polish economy and Polish public finances is slowly but steadily improving,” said Rostkowski.
