10 February 2021

The Ministry of Development Cseke Attila is elaborating a normative act through which to allocate RON 1 billion, in several tranches, for the next four years, for the consolidation of the buildings with seismic hive 1 and 2. The financing will be non-reimbursable, and for legal entities it will be granted in the form of state aid.

The real estates owned by private legal entities and consolidated from public money will not be able to be sold for ten years, except with the obligation to pay to the state budget the share of the consolidation costs. “We have introduced guarantees to avoid the misappropriation of these investments made with public money,” said Minister Cseke Attila.

Statistics show that in the Capital, there are 840 buildings with seismic risk, of which 349 grade 1 and 367 grade 2. Between 2001 and 2015 a total of 547 apartments were rehabilitated (of which 322 in Bucharest) out of only 29 buildings nationwide, and since 2015 this project has not advanced.
