Montenegro’s annual inflation rate grew by 9.7% year-on-year in March

Montenegro’s consumer price index grew by 9.7 percent year-on-year in March, after rising by 6.7 percent in February, according to the national statistical office. On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro’s consumer prices went up by 3.4 percent in March, after increasing by 1.5 percent in February.

The monthly inflation rate was backed by the increase in prices of transport (up 8.0 percent), food and non-alcoholic beverages (up 5.0 percent) and clothing and footwear (up 3.1 percent). On the other hand, the prices in hotels and restaurants edged down 0.5 percent on the month in March.
