Montenegro’s budget deficit came to €77m in the first quarter of this year, or 1.53 per cent of gross domestic product, and was 62.2 percent lower than planned. Budget revenues in the first three months, despite limited economic activity caused by the implementation of measures to protect the population from the coronavirus pandemic in the second half of March, amounted to €375.2m, or 7.46 percent of the country’s estimated GDP for 2020. That result would be 2.4 percent more than originally planned for.
