Monthly income average in Bulgaria up 3% in Q2

The monthly income per household member in Bulgaria averaged €631 in Q2, up 3 percent y-o-y, according to the National Statistics Institute. Wages and salaries accounted for 54.8 percent, while pensions made up 29.3 percent. Self-employment totaled 6 percent and 3.7 percent was from social benefits.

Monthly expenditures per household member averaged €548, down 1.5 percent y-o-y. Food accounted for 33.2 percent of the total, followed by housing at 16.6 percent and transport and communication at 11.3 percent.
