Moravia-Silesian region plans to offer 90 ha of land for the development of new industrial zones. The decision was motivated by the need to create new jobs in the region, which suffers from the highest unemployment in the Czech Republic. Next to Nad Barborou industrial zone near Karviná, where the region already secured planning permit and plans to start groundwork this year, the city of Nový Jičín wants to offer 12 hectares of land to investors. The city would contribute CZK 32m for land assembly and infrastructure investment. Krnov, Český Těšín, and Opava also plan to offer new opportunities for industrial investors. Meanwhile, work is already underway on a new Hyundai Mobis manufacturing plant near Ostrava’s main airport.
