Moravská Třebová in the Svitavsko region is completing the reseeding of land for the construction of 120 flats in apartment buildings and 20 family houses. It is preparing contracts with developers who will build them, announced Mayor Pavel Charvát (ODS).
The engineering networks will be completed within this year, all of which will cost the city CZK 60 million. The new flats will be located in the Jihozápad area near the Kaufland supermarket under construction. The area will be accessed via Svitavská Street.
The city is currently negotiating with developers to sell building plots. “We expect that financially the whole project will be on a commercial basis,” Charvát said.
The main goal is to keep young families in the city so that they have a supply of housing, the mayor said. Moravská Třebová had a population of 10,910 at the beginning of 2010, while the town had 9,656 people at the end of last year.
Construction of single-family or townhouses may continue in the Jihozápad locality, with up to 120 of them, according to the study. The zoning plan allows for residential construction there starting in 2010. A natural embankment and a strip of public green space will protect the area from the I/35 road. The embankment will be created by depositing soil from excavation works. In the future, transit traffic will be diverted by the D35 motorway, which will bypass the town to the north.
