The average annual inflation may reach 6-7% in 2022 and even more, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki believes.
“Later in the year, both due to higher […] inflation rates, which may even exceed 6% annually, maybe even oscillate around 7%, maybe even more, they will take into account those parameters of the new act, the amended budget act,” said Morawiecki during the press conference.
According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), consumer inflation amounted to 8.6% on an annual basis in December 2021, according to flash data estimates.
The budget act for 2022, which the Senate is currently working on, provides, inter alia, average annual inflation of 3.3%.
