Morawiecki presents Polish government’s anti-crisis package

Poland’s prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki has presented the government’s anti-crisis package for entrepreneurs and employees. The PLN 212bn package, which amounts to 10 percent of the country’s GDP includes employee security (PLN 30bn), enterprise financing (PLN 74bn), health care (PLN 7.5bn), financial sector support (PLN 70.3bn), and a public investment program of PLN 30bn. The most important activities of the anti-crisis package include covering the salaries of employees and allowing companies to defer payment of social security contributions by 3 months. The government will also provide microloans to entrepreneurs of up to PLN 5,000 and provide loan guarantee scheme to troubled small and medium-size companies.
