More than 106,500 businesses in Croatia paid VAT in 2015

More than 106,500 businesses operating on the Croatian market were subjected to VAT in 2015. These businesses had a total of 836,600 employees and generated €85.35bn in revenues and €2.28bn in net profits, according to figures released by the Financial Agency (FINA).

The figures do not include revenues from banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions. Of the total, 32,400, or 30.4 percent, of the businesses that had to pay VAT had no employees, a little more than 30,000 operated regularly, 619 were in liquidation and slightly more than 1,000 were in receivership, according to the figures.
