Mosaic submits planning for Kissimmee residential project next to SunRail

23 November 2015

Mosaic Development has submitted plans to the city of Kissimmee to build a $65 million mixed use development next to the city’s new SunRail station. The new project would include 287 apartments, a 120-room hotel, 15,000 square feet of retail space, two parking garages and 16 townhouses on a 10-acre site. Kissimmee commissioners approved the project in May to negotiate a deal with Mosaic to buy 8 acres of the property for an estimated $240,000-$250,000 per acre. The city will keep the remaining 2 acres which is earmarked for the parking structure. The SunRail station in downtown Kissimmee is expected to open by mid-2017 and the city expects Mosaic to finish in time for the station’s opening. The city will vote on the proposal with in the first two weeks of December.
