The Demikhov city clinical hospital in Moscow, which was built in just over a month to treat coronavirus patients, has admitted its first 20 patients. The construction of the new hospital began on March 12 and it officially opened its doors on April 17th. The 800-bed hospital is set to accompany Kommunarka, Moscow’s main coronavirus hospital. The facility has been equipped with its own oxygen supply system and in addition to treating paitents, it has the capacity to carry out more than 10,000 coronavirus tests per day. “The new infectious diseases hospital is unique and the first of its kind in the world,” the Moscow mayor’s office said.
