All Aboard Florida, which is spearheading the implementation of the new high speed rail service, has awarded the construction contract for two South Florida stations to the Fort Lauderdale-based contractor Moss & Associates. Construction of the West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale stations should begin at the end of March. The 60,000 square foot West Palm station is expected to cost $29 million and will feature an elevated lounge with seats for up to 180. The Miami-to-West Palm Beach rail service is expected to start in late 2016 with the Orlando line starting in 2017.
