The struggling Mostostal Warszawa is staying afloat, thanks to its success in finding work in the Polish energy sector. Before Poland’s construction sector crisis hit, it signed several contracts with the state and the EU to build power plant across Poland.
Work on the first EU contract is set to begin in six months, in the city of Szczecin, after the company obtains all the permits need to begin the construction of the new incinerator for the city.
“We’ve already begun to work on the project and we expect get all the permits in the next six months. We now aim to obtain all the construction permits and will also re-assess environmental decisions,” said Robert Korzeniowski, a representative of Mostostal’s board told Puls Biznesu. The company has been preparing to make its comeback on the Polish energy market for the past three years. “We already made agreements with Polimex-Mostostal and Rafako to establish a consortium to build two power blocks in Opole,” Korzeniowski said.
