American pharmaceutical firm Merck & Co. (MSD) plans to open a global IT center in Prague. The company plans to invest CZK 1bn over the next three years into the center, which will create 200 new jobs by the time the center is fully operational in 2015. Unofficial sources suggest pharmaceuticals giant is likely to lease the entire or nearly the entire 7,000 sqm Riverview office building Skanska Property is developing in Prague 5 Smíchov.
The facility will offer IT service for 140 MSD branches worldwide, focusing on mathematical models, business analyses, mobile technologies, sales applications, production, research and development and project management. MSD has been active in the Czech Republic since 1992.
