Having opened its books to potential buyers some time ago, Multimedia Polska is now moving forward with its acquisition plans. The company is sticking to its strategy because the outcome of negotiations is difficult to predict. “The most capital-intensive activity now for Multimedia is the cable market consolidation,” says Andrzej Rogowski, head of the company. Although no details have been disclosed so far, the company could be planning to employ millions of złoties raised on the stock market some time ago.
Multimedia has spent PLN 205m on its investment plans so far this year, including the acquisition of Stream Communications from MNI for PLN 153m. Its revenues came in at PLN 169.5m in the second quarter of the year, an increase of 10 percent compared with the same period in 2011. The profits, however, were down 27 percent in the period, compared with the second quarter of 2011, reaching just PLN 11m.
