Multinational command to be set up in central Hungary

A multinational command, tasked with maintaining peace in the region, will be headquartered in Szekesfehervar, central Hungary. Should conflict break out, the command will take the lead in directing operational activities, according to Hungarian Defense Minister Tibor Benko. The command will be offered for inclusion in NATO. Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia have already signed a memorandum, while Austria is expected to sign on in the future, according to Benko. The command will have a staff of around 70 people, Benko said
