MVM buys hydroelectric power plant in Romania

The state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) purchased a 7.48 MW hydroelectric power plant in Romania to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio. Based on a contract signed in January, the deal for the 90-percent stake is worth €30m. The minority owner of the plant is the pension fund of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Romania. This is MVM’s first acquisition in Romania.
