MVM Hungarian Electricity Ltd has joined the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline. The Hungarian electricity provider company purchased the 50 percent share in the pipeline’s Hungarian portion from the Hungarian Bank for Development, MFB Zrt. MVM is currently having technical, legal and business discussions with representatives of Gazprom. President-CEO of MVM said that MVM considers the deal as one of the first steps in becoming a regional leader company within the electrical power industry.
