Nail biter: Latest polls suggest ‘Bremainers’ are winning

22 June 2016

This week’s polls in the UK have suggested that voters are leaning towards remaining in the EU. The Independent newspaper polled that Remain campaigners have picked up momentum and moved back into the lead. After a scare the previous week, many foreign investors had felt threatened by the uncertainty surrounding the Brexit vote, with many industry leaders predicting dire outcomes. Even housing prices in London had begun to decrease, with a remarkable 10 percent drop in Richmond. This trend was not reflected in house prices elsewhere in the country. However, now with fears easing the value of stocks and Sterling have begun to stabilize. Thursday’s vote is still too close to call, though the bookies are now leaning to a remain vote.
