Poland’s National Stadium in Warsaw could close, according to Polish media reports, after news hit that the property may not meet fire safety standards. According to the daily Gazeta Polska Codziennie, a claim was filed with the regional prosecutor’s office by the law firm Cameron McKenna on behalf the Alpine Construction Polska and Hydrobudowa Polska consortium, which has been overseeing the construction of the property. According to the claim, the stadium’s water hydrants are damaged and the smoke-proof curtains or smoke-proof doors are not in working order. The consortium claims the damages are mechanical in nature.
