Between January and November 2016, the Hungarian population fell by 29,279 due to natural causes, 7,751 less than the same period the previous year, according to the Central Statistical Office. During this 11-month period, 85,128 children were born, up 1.4 percent from 2015, while the number of deaths totaled 114,407, down 5.4 percent y-o-y.
