The South African investor NEPI has taken another step in continuing expansion of its portfolio of Central and Eastern European properties with the acquisition of Serdika Center, a shopping center in Sofia, Bulgaria. It acquired the 51,000 sqm retail complex having already bought the Serdika Office building for a combined price (including land) of more than €207m. The sellers were Einkaufs Center Sofia and CEE Property Investment Immobilione. Serdika Center opened in 2010 roughly three kilometers from the city center and serves a 15-minute catchment area of roughly 380,000 people. The deal will still require approval from the country’s anti-monopoly board.
