Winter Park-based Alabama Oaks Assisted Living has submitted plans with the city of Winter Park to construct a memory care and assisted living facility. The new scheme, located on Howell Branch Road, will entail a three story, 38-unit, 48,650-square-foot assisted living facility on a 3.4 acre site. The request will go before the city’s planning and zoning board on May 3. Orlando is becoming a top place for retirement at a time when the Pew Research Center has calculated that 10,000 people will retire each day for the next 15 years. This is driving the construction of such facilities as developers seek to meet growing demand.
