New construction could law could be passed next spring

27 May 2020

Progress on the new Czech construction law sponsored by the Minister of Regional Development Klára Dostálová has been squeezed out of the headlines by the coronavirus pandemic, but work on it has apparently been ongoing. On Thursday, the bill will be sent to the government’s legislative council for negotiations that will last through the summer before being presented to parliament for approval in the autumn. If all goes to plan, it should become law by next spring and implemented gradually over the next two years. Taken together, the entire process will have taken roughly the same amount of time that it takes investors to secure a construction permit.
