Redstone Real Estate wants to start building the first part of its large-scale development project in Pardubice this year. A multifunctional center with shops, a hotel and other facilities will be built on the site of a former distillery near the railway station. The preparation of the construction was delayed by the covid pandemic, according to Naďa Medunová from the development.

“In the first stage, the brownfield will be built with a multifunctional building, where there will be a shopping center, hotel, offices and premises for health centers and wellness. The construction also includes the expansion of communication and the creation of a public space,” Medunová said. The building should also have a multiplex cinema, restaurant and social hall. There will be 1,200 parking spaces, which will serve visitors to the center, not as a parking lot for rail passengers. “The public cannot expect free parking,” Medun said. The developer is currently waiting for a building permit, according to the project description on its website, the building should open in the third quarter of 2024.

In 2019, Redstone Real Estate demolished the original buildings of the distillery. Its premises were used by the city of Pardubice from 2014 to May 2019 as a parking lot. The distillery has been in Pardubice since the end of the 19th century. It went bankrupt in 2003, was auctioned off by Saler, which ceased production, and its main activity was the rental of real estate.

In the second stage, the developer plans to build three residential buildings with 198 apartments with one to four rooms on the site of the neighboring bus station next to the distillery area. Due to the planned cancellation of the station, the city wants to build a terminal B next to the railway station, where regular buses will stop. It will also be necessary to demolish part of the apartment building standing between the station and the terminal. The city wants to start building a new bus station in the spring, it has a selected construction company. He will pay CZK 129 million for the investment, CZK 100 million will come from European subsidies. It is connected to the public transport terminal, which already stands at the station.
