New customers in a 24,500 sqm warehouse at SEGRO Logistics Park Poznan, Komorniki

Last year, SEGRO, an owner, manager and developer of modern warehouse and manufacturing space, acquired a 5.5-ha plot of land located adjacent to SEGRO Logistics Park Poznan, Komorniki. A new building of the size of
24,500 sqm, with plans for eco-friendly solutions created to achieve BREEAM certification at the Excellent level. The facility will be completed in the second quarter of 2023. Under a pre-let agreement, 8,400 sqm has been leased to Letbek. The remaining 8,800 sqm will be occupied by another manufacturing client, while 7,350 sqm is being developed speculatively. Axi Immo brokered the deal with Letbek.

Danish company Letbek specializes in recycling and upcycling plastics from industry and the marine sector. Recovered raw materials are used to create proprietary products used in industries such as agriculture, construction, furniture manufacturing, industrial production and water treatment.

The location is also key for us – thanks to its direct proximity to the highway, we will be able to quickly and efficiently receive deliveries of components, as well as deliver our final products,” comments Michael Bayer Thomsen, CEO of Letbek.

“We designed the building in BIM, and the development project is being carried out to the highest technical standards, which will translate into a BREEAM Excellent certificate. In addition, the new warehouse will feature additional insulation, which will produce less operational carbon dioxide in the future, as it will be warmer in winter and cooler in summer. With these solutions, the facility fits into our plan to reduce both embedded and operational carbon dioxide emissions,” says Bartosz Michalski, Director, Technical Development, SEGRO.

SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań, Komorniki is a large logistics center, strategically located near the A1 West-East highway. The total area of the park is 244,100 sqm, making it SEGRO’s largest investment in the region. The park is extremely environmentally friendly and modern, thanks to the PropTech solutions used. Smooth operation is ensured by an automatic license plate recognition system and cloud-based media monitoring. Comfort zones have been prepared for customers and their employees. They can also use electric car chargers.
