Hospodařské noviny warns its readers today that new energy efficiency regulations that go into effect in January for large residential projects are likely to result in yet higher sales prices. It quotes Central Group’s spokeswoman Marcela Fialková. “In our case, we’ll have to invest more in windows, where most heat loss takes place.” The developer Ekospol anticipates having to increase its price per square meter by as much as 10 percent. However, not all agree that the new rules should be seen as an excuse to increase prices still further. Trigrema, for example, anticipates only a minimal impact on its prices. and Petr Holub, of the “A chance for buildings” group, claims that more then half of all new projects in the country already meet the stricter norms and that most clients will make up for any price increase with lower energy costs. The new regulations will apply to new office projects as well.
