New home prices in Hungary up 8.2% in H1

Prices for new homes in Hungary increased by 8.2 percent in the first half of 2017, while prices for resale homes increased by 9.3 percent on average, according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Prices have steadily increased over the last four and a half years for new homes, and for three and a half years for resale homes, the data shows. Based on preliminary figures, 55,400 homes were sold in Hungary in the first half of 2017, down from 77,097 in the same period of 2016. Of that total, 53,736 of the homes sold were resale and around 1,800 were new homes, according to KSH.
