The Hungarian government is trying to rescue Malev’s two subsidiary company: Malév Group Handling and Aeroplex of Central Europe. According to Népszabadság this rescue program would seem to confirm that there’s a powerful drive in the Hungarian government to do what it can to create a new Hungarian airline. This, despite warnings that doing so would go against EU recommendations and that it would require funds that the country simply cannot afford at the moment. Malev went bankrupt in February.
