The Hungarian government nominated Minister of National Economy György Matolcsy chief EU negotiator for the 2014-2020 budget discussions. If appointed to the post, Matolcsy would be expected to present a “common standpoint” during the budget talks and help ensure coordination between the ministries. He would be responsible for preparing the planning papers related to Common Strategic Framework (CSF) and for leading the negotiations.
