The Czech government is in negotiations with the company it’s chosen to operate the hotel Thermal in Karlovy Vary. However, finance minister Alena Schillerová says the company’s name won’t be released until discussions have been concluded. The hotel is to be reconstructed at a cost of nearly CZK 580m, of which CZK 148m will be supplied by the State Environmental Fund and a loan. The ministry will also be holding a tender for the hotel’s pool, but since the hotel and its pool share a variety of equipment, their futures must be solved at the same time. Both the hotel and the pool are expected to remain property of the Czech state, which recently injected CZK 300m in new equity into the hotel.
