Site and underground utility work has begun on a 10 acre tract of land owned by FP&L, which has for decades been used as a fuel-oil receiving and storage facility. Seagate Development Group LLC and BCB Homes plan to build a 19-home luxury development on one of Gasparilla Islands last contiguous undeveloped parcels called Hill Tide Estates on Boca Grande. Located at 890 Belcher Road, the partnership has also proposed building an observation deck, a community boat dock with lifts and a boardwalk, but those amenities have yet to be approved. Single-family home sites in the new development are starting at $1.4 million.
