New tech park in Skopje attracts flurry of new investment

The Albanian pharmaceutical company Sagen will invest more than €20m in Skopje 1, a high-tech development zone in the Macedonian capital. A total of 300 jobs should be created once construction of the new facility is completed and made operational. Work is expected to get underway in June, with the investment to be divided into three phases that will take five years to finish. Another eight companies have committed to building new plants on the site, including Murat Ticarel Kablo, which will invest around €4.5m and create 300 jobs; Sagen, which will invest €20m and create 250 new jobs; and Kostal, where 350 should find work after a €30m investment.
