New tram lines planned for Prague – Libuše

The City of Prague is planning to build new tram lines to connect large residential neighborhoods. Modřany and Libuše should be the first to benefit from rail access to the city, with tracks to built by 2017 to connect with the end of the planned metro D line. The server lidovky.cz cites city’s deputy mayor in charge of transport Petr Dolínek as a source of the information. The tram lines will later be extended to Komořany from Modřany. The investment needs to be agreed to quickly if the the city’s transport company is to complete both sets of tracks by 2018. The price tag for the new investment is expected to run to CZK 430m.
