Nexen hints at new Czech factory

The South Korean tire producer Nexen Tire is reported to be considering seriously constructing a new factory in the Czech Republic. The company has so far left a backdoor open for itself, so while announcing the news of its interest in the new investment, it added that it had yet to take a final decision on the matter. “We are considering it because we need to expand our production capacity in the mid-term and in the long-term. Nothing has been decided, however,” according to its own statement, quoted by by the server idnes.cz. The company also has factories in South Korea and in China.

The location of the new CZK 10bn factory would be in the Usti nad Labem region in the Triangl industrial zone, where the region’s governor it would employ 1,000 people.
