Prague’s emergency service center could be housed in the uncompleted Nova Palmovka, which Prague 8 had been developing near the Palmovka metro station, according to Radek Lacko, the city councilor responsible for health care. The building was to originaly include the new Prague 8 city hall as well as a local shopping center and office space for rent. Prague 8, however, stopped construction as it sorts out a lawsuit with Prague over ownership rights to the project. There is also a controversy between the construction company Metrostav and Prague 8 over the price of the development. Lacko says that the project must be changed, as the emergency center cannot be located next to a shopping mall. Cushman & Wakefield, entrusted with leasing the space, argue that the majority of the retail space has been leased.
