Two initiatives – Lido Lagúna and Nové Lido – outline a proposed development plan for Bratislava’s former Danube beach area, called the Lido, which stretches between the river, the motorway, Old Bridge and Apollo Bridge in the city’s Petržalka district. The planning study they delivered for the area suggests building a marina, a natural park and a riverside promenade, which was promoted by Lido Lagúna, representing watermen. The study also calls for flats, offices, shops and squares, which is promoted by Nové Lido, representing HB Reavis and J&T. The new neighborhood has been designed by Compass, Jakub Cigler Architekti and Marko & Placemakers. The aim of both initiatives is to create a new center for Bratislava that will help to connect Petržalka to the rest of the city. The new center will also include projects like Cvernovka, Twin City, Sky Park, Eurovea and Nove Lido. The city, state and private investors will co-finance the costs, writes Trend Reality.
