The number of building permits issued last year in the Olomouc Region fell by 6.6 percent year-on-year to 4,443. This is according to preliminary data published by the Czech Statistical Office. In 2021, 4756 building permits were issued in the Olomouc Region, up 10.4 percent year-on-year. Last year’s number of building permits was the highest in the region in the last ten years.
Last year, authorities in the Olomouc Region issued 2,839 building permits for buildings and 1,604 permits for civil engineering structures. The indicative value of all permitted constructions in the Olomouc Region from January to December last year fell by 22.8 percent year-on-year to CZK 21.286 billion, of which buildings accounted for CZK 15.279 billion. The average value per issued building permit was CZK 4.791 million.
In 2020, when the world was hit by the coronavirus epidemic, the number of building permits in the region fell by 2.7 percent year-on-year to 4,308. The indicative value of building permits fell by 13.2 per cent to CZK 17.4 billion. In 2019, building authorities in the Olomouc Region issued 4,429 building permits. The number of these permits rose by 6.1 percent year-on-year to a seven-year high.
