Nymburk will begin the fourth part of the extensive renovation of the Jankovice housing estate. The construction works in Sadová, Šeříková and Topolová streets will include new road and pavement surfaces, new parking spaces, public lighting and planting of greenery. A bus stop will be added in Topolová Street. The fourth of the five parts of the housing estate modernisation will cost CZK 26.5 million net, the work will be carried out by the Halko company, city spokeswoman Olga Vendlová informed yesterday.
The company will take over the construction site at the beginning of March and will start work in Sadová Street. “The locals can look forward to a new road surface and pavements, new parking spaces and an overall modern street layout including public lighting and the addition of greenery,” said deputy mayor Bořek Černý (Nymburk with peace). New parking spaces are also to be added to the street.
In the summer, work is to continue in Šeříková and Topolová streets, where a bus stop will be added. The works should proceed in stages to maintain the detour routes for people.
Around 3,000 people live in the Jankovice housing estate in the north-west of the town. The gradual repairs and upgrades that the city has been doing since 2020 are divided into five stages. The last of them is planned by the city for next year.
