The Nymburk Hospital, owned by the city, will receive a subsidy from the European Union in the amount of 150 million crowns for its development. The money will be used to buy equipment and an extension to Hall A, the hospital said in an annoucement.
In the completed part of the pavilion, a new multidisciplinary ICU will find its place, which will suit the current distribution of health care in the hospital buildings. The surgery and gynecology and obstetrics departments will be expanded on the next floors.
“This is a turning point for our hospital. I am all the happier that at various stages of preparation we have encountered claims that we cannot prepare project documentation, that we will not be able to do it,” said hospital executive Nela Gvoždiáková.
In 2019, the city had the hospital management replaced. “Time has shown that our decision to change hospital management in 2019 was the right one. Subsequently, the city council’s approved strategy for 2019-2025 proved to be a healthy step for the future direction of our hospital. The promised investment in buildings for this period of 112 million crowns already has its positive results,” said Mayor Tomáš Mach (Nymburk s klidem).
For example, the city has invested several million in the reconstruction of the main entrance to the hospital, the construction of central warehouses, the reconstruction of medical rooms, the facilities of medical staff and a warehouse in the gynecology and obstetrics department, along with four above-standard rooms. “Reconstruction of pathology is being prepared this year. However, the hospital will not be idle and it can procure money itself from other sources,” said Mach.
