OBERMEYER HELIKA celebrates the successful first year of its studio in Brno

1 June 2022

OBERMEYER HELIKA a.s. has decided to strengthen its position in Moravia, and has opened a new studio in Brno, which will celebrate its first successful year since its launch in July this year. The head of the Brno studio is Ing. Jiří Houda, who has been with OBERMEYER HELIKA for more than ten years. The offices are located on the premises of the Technical University, in Purkyňová Street. He and his team, which currently numbers eight engineers and architects, are working on projects throughout the Czech Republic.

“We are currently continuing work on several interesting projects, whether they are medical facilities in Pelhřimov, Lanškroun or Prague, or various administrative and commercial centers in Prague, Pilsen and Brno. As we have seen in the past covid period, much of our work can be done online. However, the regular presence of our specialists at the site of the future construction, personal meetings with the client and the client, as well as detailed knowledge of the site are aspects that are always beneficial and often necessary. We often find solutions that would not have been possible at our desk in the office, without a thorough knowledge of the environment. In addition, for projects where we perform author’s supervision, our regular presence on the construction site is irreplaceable. These and other reasons led us a year ago to decide to establish a new studio in Brno. As it turned out in a year of work in the studio, it was the right decision,” evaluates the reasons for the expansion of Ing. Jiří Fousek, General Director of OBERMEYER HELIKA a.s.

Head of the studio Ing. Jiří Houda is currently working with his team on the new pavilion of the Pelhřimov Hospital and is completing the reconstruction of the Polyclinic in Lanškroun, cooperating in the preparation of a plan for the construction of a residential building in Brno. He has been working at OBERMEYER HELIKA since 2004 and has completed significant projects, such as the reconstruction of the Children’s University Hospital in Motol, Prague, construction and modernization of pavilions at the Mladá Boleslav Regional Hospital, author supervision and project management of the Mechanica Waltrovka administrative complex, and management of the reconstruction of the monument. of the building for the medical building Walter Medicentrum – Jinonice Prague.

“I am especially pleased with the new challenges ahead. Composing a functional vibrant studio, where we are able to successfully portray seemingly incomprehensible assignments and at the same time meet the material expectations of clients is one of the many challenges that I am very pleased about in this work. In the Brno office, we want to take the opportunity to be closer to our projects we are currently working on, as well as to those that await us in Moravia in the near future. I see that the new colleagues who joined us in the studio are a benefit both for OBERMEYER HELIKA and for our clients,” describes the basic thesis of Ing. Jiří Houda, head of the OBERMEYER HELIKA studio in Brno. “I assume that in the future we will strengthen close cooperation with our partner studio in Bratislava,” concludes Ing. Jiří Houda.
