The vacancy rate on the Bucharest office market decreased to 9 percent in the first six months of the year, down from 13 percent at the end of 2016, according to BNP Paribas Real Estate Romania. Approximately 157,000 sqm in deals were signed in H1, up 7,000 sqm from the previous year. Northern Bucharest as well as the city’s Aurel Vlaicu and Dimitrie Pompei districts have attracted the most office tenants. Increased demand from international investors has impacted not only the office sector but also retail and logistics. BNP Paribas Real Estate anticipates the trend will continue in the following months, predicting the capital’s vacancy rate will fall below 7 percent.
